feast of st. andrew ‘follow me’

Romans 10:15 “How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the Good News.” With these words taken from Isaiah, Paul paints a picture of someone dedicated to preaching the good news of the reign of God.  His focus on “feet” only emphasizes the way those committed to evangelization are always on the move, always walking, always running, to spread the Gospel.  We live in as in all of time where people look for meaning in life–and I see in Jesus of Nazareth the one who can bring wholeness, and hope.  That is why I do the work that I do–our meals are not about just feeding people–but about showing people love, care, concern–that only can come when one is committed to Jesus, the outreach is not about handing out socks, food, harm reduction supplies, it is about witness to the saving power of Jesus–the One who saves us from the loneliness, alientation of our lives. I know that because Jesus saved me, and continues to save me from loneliness, isolation, selfishness–I am always working my salvation
