The Reign if God Is Near

Luke 21:20-28 “The reign of God is near.”

Tonight we serve our meal, rain or shine, and I will go to the Haight and serve afterward, last night as I did outreach people reached out to me from the doorways asking for socks, needles, food, and companionship, and I thought of how the reign of God is present in the acts of feeding, of nuturing.  The reign of God is near, it is present in our acts of love and care for each other.  People often asked me if I miss not being with “family” or friends on Thanksgiving and Christmas and the reality is I am with family, with friends on the holidays, for these guys are my family, my friends, and this is where I celebrate. Deo Gratias! Thanks be to God!
